AIS Sandesh [9/3/05]: Special Welcome Party Issue!
Hi all,
This is a reminder that the Fall welcome party is on Sunday Sep. 4th at 7:30pm at Ground Zero. Entry is FREE to all!
Remember.. the party _starts_ at 7:30.. be there, or be late :-).
DJ Varun will be there with his beats, and you can even request songs for as less as a quarter!
Unfortunately, due to some last moment funding constraints, we will _not_ be able to serve desi food - however, there will be pizza [veggie and chicken] for all. We know a lot of us have been waiting for a desi food party and promise to make up for it in one of our coming events.
Thanks for your understanding.
As far as the questions about membership are concerned, please note that you can become a member at the door. Also, remember to get your stickers. We have the new logo now and we love it!
Speaking of questions, here is the Quiz of the Issue: [Yes, we know a lot of you thought the previous question was too easy, so here comes]
Ashok Kumar "Dadamoni", the grand old man of Bollywood died in Mumbai. He won an National award for Best Actor for his performance in the movie "Aashirwaad". However according to Ashok Kumar, this movie can make another "hip" claim to fame.
What is it?
Remember, the first person to send in the answer to india@usc.edu gets a mention in the next "Sandesh !
The answer to the previous question is "Zeenat Aman, Meenakshi Sheshadhri, Poonam Dhillon, Tina Munim and Aishwarya Rai were all runners ups in the Miss India contest (1st or 2nd) to take up acting in hindi movies."
The first correct answer was sent by Maunic Dharia - congrats! A lot of others also got it right. Thanks for your enthusiasm.
