Indicorp Fellowship 2008

What are you willing to do for CHANGE?

Indicorps encourages aspiring leaders to engage in intense grassroots development opportunities that explore the promise of leadership and challenge individuals to leverage their skills and talents to address India's pressing needs. The Indicorps Fellowship program is designed to provide one-of-a-kind transformational experiences, emphasizing both public service and personal growth. Indicorps participants choose their projects and are placed with thoroughly evaluated community-based organizations for one or two years. All fellows will participate in a four-week orientation program, strengthen their understanding of leadership/change through regular workshops, and are actively supported by Indicorps and partner organizations.

APPLY NOW to the Indicorps Fellowship at http://apply.indicorps.org. Applications are now available for fellowships starting August 2008. Prospective fellows must be of Indian origin with a college degree or five years equivalent work experience. Visit www.indicorps.org to learn more about Indicorps, the Indicorps Fellowship program, or other grassroots service opportunities.

Indicorps provides structured opportunities for committed youth engage with India's development.. Towards this goal, Indicorps strives to provide transformational service experiences that encourage people of Indian origin to engage fully (body, mind, and soul) in the process of change; explore their capacity to affect change; strengthen their leadership potential; and take active steps to contribute to the world around them. Indicorps also hopes to make a conscious effort to unite India's fragmented global family in collective contribution towards India's progress.

Indicorps Fellowship

The Indicorps fellowship is a profound personal experience and an opportunity to understand participatory development through intense voluntary service. The structured program encourages participants to leave their comfort zones, place others' interests before their own, test their own potential to affect change, explore their relationship with India, and understand what it means to lead by committing themselves to innovative grassroots projects. Indicorps believes that giving one's time and energy, without any attachment to the outcome, regardless of the circumstances, is an unparalleled personal experience in service. At the same time, the fellowship is a chance for fellows to address their own identity, recognize their personal boundaries, and understand how to produce change in their environment(s). The fellowship is deeply rewarding, a transformational and challenging personal journey, and part of Indicorps' collective experiment for change.

Participate in  A Survey for a Project Course

Hi,

My Name is Srikanth Jandhyala and I am a PhD candidate in the department of computer science at Louisiana State University. I am conducting a research on digital connectivity between Indian students in America and their parents in India as part of one of my coursework project. I have created a survey as part of this research and I request you to pass on this survey to the Indian students mailing list at your university. I am copying the survey questions along with options so that you get an idea of what questions the survey takers are expected to answer. The following URL points to the actual survey:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=ce11ftrfPozGr_2bwszLLEfw_3d_3d

If you are not interested in forwarding the survey or feel it is inappropriate content to distribute, can you please reply with a "NO" in the message body. This gives me an idea of which universities participated in the survey.

If this mail was sent in the past and you already participated or weren't interested in participating, I apologize for the repetitive mails.

regards

Srikanth Jandhyala
